During the summer of 2008 Andy was asked to participate in recordings of arrangements by Anne McGinty and Bill Reichenbach for a brass octet. Joining, among others, Alex Iles, Bill Reichenbach and Doug Tornquist these great arrangements were recorded and are now available through Anne's website, see links, as well as CD Baby

The program for his solo recital at CSUN on March 14, 2010 marked the completion of the current commissioning project. The final work is by Steven J. Williams called Three Favorite Poems. Each poem is performed as a reading with a piano underscore which uses material from the pieces written for trombone and piano based on each of the three poems. The poems are: Ozymandias by Percy Bysshe Shelley, Not Waving But Drowning by Stevie Smith and The Mower's Song by Andrew Marvel.

The next commission to be completed will be a brass quintet by Damian Montano which will be a trombone feature or solo within a group with an instrumentation of two trumpets, horn, trombone and tuba. I have received the first draft of this work and we will be reading and refining it over the summer with the premiere scheduled for September 26, 2010 at CSUN. Please see the events page for more details.

Gernot Wolfgang has just agreed to write a piece for me. We are in the very early talking stages and I will provide more details when we figure out what they are! Bill Reichenbach has started writing his piece for me which will be a brass quintet featuring solo trombone.

Plans are underway to record the second CD which will consist entirely of Malloy's commissions for solo trombone or trombone and piano. This project should finally be completed during 2010. The repertoire for this recording includes works by John Steinmetz, Nick Lane, Adrienne Albert, Steven Williams, Stephen Yip and Jason Barabba.
